New Phones!!!

A lot of waiting I did, to see if anyone replied to my last post....NOT!

After class today, I went to a friends house for dinner & she showed me a website where great discounts are available...SO, I went ahead and stuck with Sprint. The discounts were so great, that I ordered a Samsung Instinct for myself, a Motorola Q for Bill, and a Red Samsung Rant for Mom. The total of those phones normally would be nearing $1,000. But, through the website, I was able to get them (plus 3 $50 protection plans) for 283! Yes, $283!! :) AND, I'm getting a $150.00 mail in rebate. Plus, mom & bill went ahead and paid that...So, I'm still gonna keep paying for them...

Yay for great friends who have great connections! :)

New Phone?

My contract with Sprint is up, so I have been doing research on the different phones and phone companies...pretty much every place has the same deals +/- $10. So it's basically whichever company I can get the best deal with...Mom and Bill and I are going to go to Best Buy or Radio Shack tomorrow night and look at phones....I've pretty much decided between Sprint and AT&T--even though I'd prefer to not go with Sprint.
We'll see....

Does anyone have any complaints about AT&T or positives that I should know before making a decision???

Or recommendations of other companies.....

100th Post---an update on my life from the last month

This is my 100th blog! I wanted it to be extra special & about something awesomely awesome...perhaps I'll post pics of Third Day?

Anyway, so since I've been back from Dallas:

Had a Spring Break from the Christian School---spent it being bombarded with Physics and World Lit makeup homework and the flu-yuck (don't eat Mexican food & get the flu...just a warning).

Went to the dr to check up on my migraines--I was still having them...so she just refilled my Rx.

Steve (our worship pastor) said maybe I was dehydrated & that was causing my migraines...so I've been drinking water like it's goin' outta style & guess what??? No migraines...and only 2 headaches in the last 3 weeks. :) Thanks Steve-Oh!

The next week was Spring Break at Del Mar---but I still had a lot of Physics & World Lit to do, so I spent the week holed up in the McNeils house (where I was house sitting) buried in books. I spent the week praying about the guy I had been dating (for a month or so)--I felt God telling me not to continue with the relationship & as I was trying to figure out how to talk with him about it, he started dating someone else. So I guess God solved that one for me. I also had to make up my Philosophy midterm (got a 43-boo) and Cross Cultural Ministry midterm (84).

Last week was spent with Oso Fun practices, finishing up my World Lit paper, and more studying...I'm trying to really buckle down--only 5 weeks until Finals!!!

Yesterday, we had Oso Fun, which was Oh-So- much fun. :)

When i got home, I laid down on my mom's bed (it was about 1220 when i got home), and didn't wake up until 330 when Bill came in...so I went and laid back down on the couch and slept until 5! I didn't realize I was that tired, but I just couldn't get up.

Then, we (mom and I, Brigetta, Susie, and Will) went to the THIRD DAY Concert at Concrete Street! It was AWESOME!!!

These are my 5 favorite pics (just because I'm tired and don't want to upload more):

Brigetta, Will, and I. :)

An awesome screen---can't remember the name of the song, but I thought the screen looked sweet.

Revelation---the name of the Song and of the Tour.

This picture is from when they came and played in the crowd...It was literally less than 5 feet from us!!! It was SO stinkin' awesome. :) (Although this picture kinda makes it look like he was further away than he really was...he was SO close). :)

Driving...

Tomorrow I will be headed back home. Thanks so SO much to all of you who have been praying for my family and me. Please continue to pray as we all make our ways home. I will be driving the whole way by myself. My mom will be going to the Austin/Lago Vista/Round Rock area and stay the night at my aunts then come the rest of the way home Sunday with my cousins. Bill will be staying here until Sunday morning when he will head back by himself. So, please just keep us all in your prayers again.

I am planning on getting up at 6, eating continental breakfast (I am all about FREE food!), and pulling out between 630 and 7. yes...630 and 7 AM.

We'll see what happens...................

This Week

This week has been such a long week. My parents and I have been up here in Arlington since Sunday, and doing all the necessary things for my grandma's funeral today. Thank you so much for all your prayers...we are all still in shock a little, I think, but we are at peace as we know that she is with Jesus and no longer in pain.

Yesterday (Wednesday), mom and I decided to explore the shopping center around our hotel. We thought it was just a few stores, but, WOW, it's a ton of stores. The shopping center is called Arlington Highlands & it has just about everything one could ever need... If you click on the link, you'll be able to see all the stores & a map. Our hotel is where the compass is on the map. Anyway, it was a really pretty shopping center, with a fountain and a stream and flowers and prettiness...

Anyway, here are some pics from that:

TODAY, I got to hang out with Kerre & Jack Thorne!!! And Kerre's dad too! We went to lunch and then hung out in the hotel lobby for awhile. God has certainly blessed Aaron & Kerre with that sweet little boy. He's so cute & a camera lover...every time I took my camera out to take his picture, he would look at it, smile, and then chase after it. I would try to get pics of him playing and the second he would hear the camera, he'd turn and smile. What a sweet boy.
Thanks so much, Kerre, for spending time with me!

Here's some pics of those:

Jack actually took this picture of Kerre....
He was looking at the flower, playing with Kerre, but as soon as he heard the sound of the camera, he turned and looked at me.... then he got up and chased me, trying to get the camera. :)

Kerre, Jack and me!!! :)

On Tuesday, we went to one of my favorite stores, Mardel, they have Education supplies as well as Christian things....for those of you in CC, it's kind of a mix of the Family Christian Store and CC Educational. It's great. Anyway, while I was there, I bought two awesome shirts. One is pink and has a big I (heart) Jesus. The other is brown....I'm wearing it in the above pictures, but here is a close up...

Last Grandma Update

She fought to her last breath. Her body was so strong, but she had so much brain damage, that the doctors said there was no hope at all. It turns out that when she had her stroke she also had a siezure. This caused so much bleeding on her brain that her brain actually shifted. The doctors said that she could basically live on the ventilator in a nursing home but that she would not have any quality of life. So, my grandpa made one of the hardest choices in his life to take her off the ventilator. She came off of the ventilator at about 230pm. They only expected her to live a few minutes, but she kept on breathing and fighting strong until about 5pm when she breathed her last breath. She is going to be missed dearly, but we know she's in a much better place.

Please be in prayer for her husband, Mark, sons Bill and John, my mom, Kasey, her half-sister Brittany, and for me.
thank you so much.

Grandma Update

Well, the docs said that grandma did in fact have a stroke---a bad one.
I guess it started as a real bad headache Saturday night, along with a high fever. She went to bed, but began screaming and yelling about appraisals and stuff (she's a real estate appraiser) in the middle of the night, and they tried waking her and ended up calling the ambulance and taking her to the nearest hospital. She was flown from that hospital to another (in a helicopter). After a bunch of testing, they confirmed it was a stroke and that she is in a coma. They had to put her on a ventilator. There is a ton of bleeding on her brain--so much, that her brain had actually shifted.

Bill just called, and they are going to take her off the ventilator today. It doesn't sound like she will make it through the day.

Please be in prayer for Bill, Mark (my grandpa), John (my uncle), Kasey (my step-sister) & Britney (Kasey's half-sister). And for mom and I as well.
Thanks

Prayers, Please!

My grandma, Sally Shearer, had a stroke last night sometime. My parents got a call in the wee hours of the morning, and Bill left the house between 3 & 4am to head up to the Dallas area. The doctors said that they don't give her long. I'm not sure what long means...perhaps today or tomorrow, or two months? Not sure...but it sounds like she could pass away sometime today. My mom and I are packing our things and getting stuff organized here and will be leaving soon, I hope (it's already almost 4, which means, well after midnight before we get there --mom drives carefully...)

So, please pray that she's comfortable and not in pain and for a miracle and that everyone can feel God's presence and His arms around them. Please especially pray for my grandpa (Mark) who, I'm sure, is falling to pieces.

Also pray for safe travels for mom, Bill, and me.

And for my midterms Tuesday that I think I am going to miss.
