2 weeks

I'm sure all 2 of you who read this are getting bored with my "I can't wait to see my dad" blogs, but really I can't! I am SO excited!!! =) I mean I haven't seen this guy in over 12 years, and now I'm going to see him in TWO WEEKS.

I talked with him on Saturday & he's super excited too. We've got lots of stuff planned for while I'm there...a trip to the zoo and the water park, a day or two of fishing and kayaking, as well as some sightseeing and seeing family members, of course.

My cousin Shaina will be in Ohio also with her kids Noah and Grace. I'm super excited to see Shaina again and meet my two new 2nd cousins. :) My aunt Donna retired from being the Postmaster last week, so they're having a retirement party for her while I'm there. Unfortunately, it's on the day of the wedding I'm in, so I won't be able to attend. She was also elected Postmaster of the Year for the State of Ohio, which is a huge honor.

Well, I've gotta run (I'm at Audie's and supposed to be helping make cookies...).
Until next time,

Prayer Request

I have the opportunity to move in to a house with my friend Megan. It would just be the two of us in a nice two story house with a big back yard. It would be completely rent free...we'd just split the cost of electric, water, etc. Which shouldn't be that much. I could afford it by babysitting a couple times a month.

The problem is, it's all the way in Callallan. I know, it's not that far, but I have stuff to do in town like every day...and it would be hard for me to just 'swing by the building' to get work done or to run to SCS or something like that...I'd have to plan it out. Megan and I could possibly ride out together (because she works MWF and will be taking classes TR), but it would just be difficult, I think.
So, if you could pray for my decision, I'd appreciate it.

Also, 16 days until I leave, 17 days until I see my dad!!!

Acting like a "College Kid"...for once

99.5% of the time my "night out" includes me & kids...or kids parents. Meaning I'm either babysitting or, occasionally, hanging out with my friends who are the parents of the kids I sit for. While I love all "my" kiddos and their parents (my friends), sometimes I just want to go be a "college kid" and forget about time and just relax and have fun (and totally not saying I don't have fun with the kiddos and or my friends who are parents...it's just...different). I honestly don't remember the last time I did that...until tonight.

My great friend Tiffany turned 21 yesterday & she decided to have her bday party at Wallbangers followed by Karaoke & Pool at Paradise Pool Hall. While I opted out of the Wallbangers Portion (HEY, it's BACHELORETTE night! I can't miss Bachelorette! <3 ), I joined them at about 930 at Paradise. We had an ABSOLUTE BLAST!!! It was so much fun! I can not remember the last time I laughed so hard! We only played one round of pool & then it was karaoke for the rest of the night. I actually got over my fear and sang a couple of songs (Happy Birthday, Don't Stop Believin' -Journey!, and Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!!! ). Probably one of the best and funniest parts of the nights was putting the boys names down to sing "Man, I feel Like a Woman" by Shania Twain...the best part was that they really got into it & were singing it at the top of their lungs! I took a video, but the quality stinks...it's all pixelated.

Anyway, I had an absolute blast and felt like a "college kid" instead of the responsible person I am (not saying I wasn't being responsible---just had fun dressing up and forgetting about the time). And, if you notice the time stamp on this post (and if it's correct), it is 3:18am. And I'm wide awake...

25

25. Twenty-five. Vente-cinco. 25 days until I go to OHIO! 25 days until I see my dad for the first time in OVER 12 years. I can't believe it's this close. In 3 weeks, I'll be frantically packing and getting ready to go. I am SO excited!!

Wednesday night service

Megan R and I went to PIBC last night for their youth/college Wednesday night service. We had a great time. My friend Eric is the Youth Pastor there & he, of course, made us feel welcome/embarassed with his little squeal of 'AmbER' when I walked in. lol. It was pretty funny. Nobody else said a word to us until after the service when I told Eric that...then everyone became friendly.

It's so true though that people need a nudge to talk to new people. I've been so comfortable at Oso with my group of friends and working and I think that maybe I've been doing the same....staying in my comfort zone and not jumping out and saying Hi to people who are visiting.

I was very excited about the worship music. It was very much like Oso (We sang Marvelous Light, which I've heard like a bazillion times since B2B) but geared toward youth-fast paced songs that they could jump around to. Eric recorded a CD demo during Spring Break (which i got to hear at SCS right after he recorded it). It's a great CD, and we were lucky enough to be there as he debuted 4 of the songs. I can't wait for the CD to come out next month so that I can buy it!

All in all, it was a great evening that we ended with Taco Bell. =)
